Appointments to see a doctor or the practice nurse can be made during surgery hours;
- Online via Patient Access or our online consultation
- By telephone
- In person
Appointments can be made up to 2 weeks in advance.
If you require a translator please inform one of the receptionists of the language you speak and that your need a translator when making an appointment. We will try our best to provide a longer appointment time and also to get connected to Language Line.
Booked Appointments
The nurse is part-time and available appointment times should be checked with reception.
We also offer pre-bookable late appointments on a Monday and Tuesday from 18:30 – 20:20 and on a Wednesday from 18:30 to 20:00 for patients who are at work during the day. Please note that blood tests cannot be taken at these appointments.
Telephone Consultations
Telephone consultations with either the GP or nurse are also available.
Appointments may be booked as a telephone consultation rather than attending in person.
Duty Doctor
Duty Doctor available for urgent medical problems during surgery hours
Urgent enquiries can be dealt with on the day. Please telephone first.
The emergency doctor is on duty from 8.30am until 6.30pm. If you have a medical emergency at lunchtime you can ring the practice to obtain the emergency number to get through to us. Please try and telephone before 5pm if you can because large numbers of late calls make it difficult for the doctors to manage workload.
Routine appointments are ten minutes long. If your problems need more than ten minutes we will do our best in the time we have. You can book a double appointment or make a follow-up appointment if you need more time. Please discuss this with your doctor.
Extended Consultations
We allow our patients the option to request a double appointment if their medical query requires it.
We are closed on Thursday afternoon to allow for staff meetings and training sessions.
Evening and Weekend Appointments
In addition to the practice opening hours, patients in City & Hackney have access to GP, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant/blood clinic appointments and Pharmacists from 6.30pm to 8.00pm Monday to Friday.
These appointments are available at GP practices across City & Hackney. Patients can book these appointments by contacting their own GP practice during opening hours or by calling NHS111 when their practice is closed.
Home Visits
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
